Interesting and sometimes controversial views on health, big pharma and the food industry. We need more information about wellness so that we can make informed choices about our own health and wellness. Remember, doctors get most of their information from the drug companies!
I wonder if the people who urge their friends to 'buy pink' to fund cancer research are open to the possibility that they may not be doing the rest of us any favours. I wrote to my friends as follows:
I wonder if the people who send me requests to 'buy pink' or put a 'fight cancer' statement on my Facebook Wall will put has much effort into promoting this link. or even reading it.
In my view the cancer industry is not looking for a cure, it's looking for a treatment - more specifically, a drug to treat cancer patients. They would suppress anything natural that really did cure cancer because they cannot patent it and so cannot make money.
Reasonable - they are in business to make money for their share holders. In fact their share holders demand it.
But I guess that the majority of people will 'feel good' about promoting a link to 'fight cancer' or 'buy pink' (a racket if ever I saw one) but hesitate to research the work of Dr Max Gerson because somehow, it seems quacky.
We were recently able to interview Charlotte Gerson, and this 47-minute conversation became one of the most fascinating dialogs I've ever heard about the history of mainstream oppression against cancer cures and leading anti-cancer doctors.

When it comes to getting into shape and being healthy, everyone needs a little boost of motivation to get started. Some people are motivated by their own self interests of just looking and feeling good, yet for some people this isn't enough. Getting healthy can be hard work and for some people, an extra incentive is necessary to get them eating correctly and hitting gym. However, everyone is different. How easy it to come up with something that everyone is interested in to further encourage healthiness? Well, one commonly shared bond is that everyone likes a little extra money in their pockets, so it wouldn't hurt to start there.
Wellness programs around the country are creating programs that pay their customers money for just being healthy. Members of these certain programs can win prizes, get cash back, and receive other bonus incentives for taking good care of one's self. One of these programs is InTune, which has launched a nation wide wellness program that gives back to its members that want to get healthy. How it works is that each one of their members is giving a lifestyle profile that comes with a science based comprehensive health score. This health profile leads them to coaching programs that help them reach certain wellness goals. Every time a member does this they receive payment and prizes. Even health insurance companies have taken up this banner of giving money back to customers who look out for their well being.
Health insurance covers everything from basic injury to reconstructive surgery at Chicago plastic surgery centers like MetropoliatanMD, so many feel that if they're paying insurance to take care of them when they're sick and that health insurance should pay them back when they're healthy. This is actually what many health insurance companies have been doing as of late. They realize as other wellness programs realized that if their customers and members take better care of their self that it would ultimately save their companies money in the long run. Healthy customers mean fewer health problems, and fewer problems lead to less money being spent. So in a way it's helping their members feel better while being good business.
With most people in the country not eating right or working out regularly, some sort of motivation is needed. Chicago Liposuction specialists are trained to handle the most severe of cases, but it's strongly recommended to take preventative action. It looks like the right incentive or reward might be monetary, and if encourages better health, it just may pay off in the end for both the programs and the people.
(NaturalNews) It's well-established that exposure to ionizing radiation can trigger mutations and other genetic damage and cause normal cells to become malignant. So it seems amazing how mainstream medicine frequently dismisses the idea that medical imaging tests from mammograms to CT scans could play much of a role in causing breast cancer. Take this example from the web site for Cornell University's Program on Breast Cancer and Environmental Risk Factors:
In answer to the question "Is ionizing radiation a cause of breast cancer?", the Cornell experts say "Yes" and note ".. female breast tissue is highly susceptible to radiation effects." But then they pooh-pooh the possible hazard from mammography x-rays saying the risk …"should not be a factor in individual decisions to undergo this procedure. The same is true for most diagnostic x-ray procedures."

Pharmanex's Biophotonic Scanner is one of the most important breakthroughs in nutritional science.
What is the Scanner?
It's a revolutionary tool developed by Pharmanex to measure the carotenoid antioxidant levels in your skin-and prove the effectiveness of your supplements in improving your overall antioxidant health.
What does the Scanner do?
Place the palm of your hand in front of the Scanner's safe, low-energy blue light laser, and you will obtain an immediate reading of the carotenoid antioxidant levels in your skin-your Skin Carotenoid Score.
Why should I be scanned?
By measuring the stable level of carotenoid antioxidants in your skin and generating your Skin Carotenoid Score, the Scanner provides a more accurate and reliable biomarker of your overall antioxidant health status than other methods of measuring antioxidants.
Getting your Skin Carotenoid Score makes you aware of the antioxidant levels in your body-and gives you the push you need to improve your overall antioxidant health.
If you already advise clients or patients on good eating habits, nutrition or wellness and you would like to find out how you can use the scanner in your clinic or for more information CLICK HERE then get back to the person who recommended you visit this site or contact Paul Clegg direct.
I have been concerned about the health dangers associated with the regular use of mobile phones. I suggest that you put your mobile phone about 3 inches away from your computer monitor and watch what happens when a call comes in. If the signal can scramble your screen, just think for a minute what it can do to your brain.
Alarming new research from Sweden on the effects of radiation also raises fears that today's youngsters face an epidemic of the disease in later life Take a look at the article by Geoffrey Lean, Environment Editor Independent on Sunday, 21 September 2008
Children and teenagers are five times more likely to get brain cancer if they use mobile phones, startling new research indicates.
The study, experts say, raises fears that today's young people may suffer an "epidemic" of the disease in later life. At least nine out of 10 British 16-year-olds have their own handset, as do more than 40 per cent of primary schoolchildren.
Yet investigating dangers to the young has been omitted from a massive £3.1m British investigation of the risks of cancer from using mobile phones, launched this year, even though the official Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research (MTHR) Programme – which is conducting it – admits that the issue is of the "highest priority".
Despite recommendations of an official report that the use of mobiles by children should be "minimised", the Government has done almost nothing to discourage it.
Last week the European Parliament voted by 522 to 16 to urge ministers across Europe to bring in stricter limits for exposure to radiation from mobile and cordless phones, Wi-fi and other devices, partly because children are especially vulnerable to them. They are more at risk because their brains and nervous systems are still developing and because – since their heads are smaller and their skulls are thinner – the radiation penetrates deeper into their brains.
I came across this article on a great health blog by Ruth Schaffer and thought I would share it with everyone.
A reader originally sent her a tip about Men’s Health article titled “The 10 Best Foods You Aren’t Eating”, and while it was originally written with men in mind, I think the info is something we can all benefit from, gender aside. According to the article, here are ten of the healthiest foods (and what makes them superfoods) you should consider tossing in your shopping cart next time you head to the grocery:
1. Beets: “…one of the best sources of both folate and betaine. These two nutrients work together to lower your blood levels of homocysteine, an inflammatory compound that can damage your arteries and increase your risk of heart disease.”
2. Cabbage: “…loaded with valuable nutrients. At the top of the list is sulforaphane, a chemical that increases your body’s production of enzymes that disarm cell-damaging free radicals and reduce your risk of cancer.”
3. Guava: “Guava has a higher concentration of lycopene — an antioxidant that fights prostate cancer — than any other plant food, including tomatoes and watermelon.”
4. Swiss chard: “A half cup of cooked Swiss chard provides a huge amount of both lutein and zeaxanthin, supplying 10 mg each. These plant chemicals, known as carotenoids, protect your retinas from the damage of aging, according to Harvard researchers.” See related info on my previous post on Xangold and macular degeneration.
5. Cinnamon: “Cinnamon helps control your blood sugar, which influences your risk of heart disease. In fact, USDA researchers found that people with type-2 diabetes who consumed 1 g of cinnamon a day for 6 weeks (about 1/4 teaspoon each day) significantly reduced not only their blood sugar but also their triglycerides and LDL (bad) cholesterol.”
Today I spoke at the Community Soul meeting in Bath where I met a very charismatic man called Andrew Harry who gave a talk on his passion, Polarity Therapy. I am very much aware of the main complimentary therapies and a few of the obscure one but this is one therapy I had not come across before.
Polarity Therapy is a comprehensive health system involving energy-based bodywork, diet, exercise and self-awareness. It works with the Human Energy Field - electromagnetic patterns expressed in mental, emotional and physical experience. In Polarity Therapy, health is viewed as a reflection of the condition of the energy field, and therapeutic methods are designed to balance this field for the benefit of your health.
Whilst I have taken this explanation from Andrew's website, I am aware of energy fields, lay lines. yin and yang, galvanic currents and of course the energy that is generated when observing the law of attraction. So what Andrew talks about makes logical sense.
Certainly a google search for Polarity Therapy brings up some fascinating reading but if you want to talk to someone who practices what he preaches check out Andrew's website and give him a call. I have found him to be very approachable.
I would certainly be interested to any feedback regarding the sort of conditions that Polarity Therapy helps.

Acupuncture Reduces Post-Surgery Pain While Reducing Need for Pain Drugs with thanks to Natural News
Acupuncture may reduce the pain experienced by patients after surgery, and decrease their need for pain-killing drugs, according to a new study conducted by researchers from the Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina and presented at an American Society for Anesthesiology conference in San Francisco.
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into certain key (predetermined) points in the body. There is evidence of the practice existing in China anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 years ago.
"The use of acupuncture is still very under-appreciated," said Dr. Tong-Joo Gan, vice chairman of Duke's anesthesiology department. "Western doctors are typically not trained [in acupuncture], and they really are not familiar with how it works. I think practitioners such as surgeons and anesthesiologists need to have an open mind."
Your mind doesn’t care which one. You can think of your body as a blank page, waiting for you to tell it what to do. Unfortunately, your body is not set to some magical “good” default so that it will automatically convert all your thoughts to a beneficial result. It is completely neutral to the outcome, and only you can control the signals.
Unfortunately, most people tend to be caught up with their negative emotions. This is an easy trap to fall into as it seems to be the cultural norm. So you may easily allow fear, anxiety, anger, sadness, guilt or countless other negative thoughts to interfere with your day. Yet, when you do this, your body will manifest these negativities into physical disease.
A classic example is a woman who believes she will get breast cancer because her mother had it. Well, if you believe it for long enough, your body will make sure that it comes true. But this is far from the only example. Everything from childhood traumas to your overall outlook on life will play a role.
You have likely heard of the placebo effect -- the very real phenomenon of people becoming healed after taking a sugar pill or other sham treatment. Well, this is directly a result of your mind believing that you will get better after the fake treatment.
It is also not unusual for people to experience spontaneous remissions from cancer and other diseases simply because they have had a profound change in their beliefs or outlook on life.
But it works both ways. The “nocebo effect” refers to the fact that, just as positive beliefs can heal you, your negative beliefs can make you sick.
What are Your Thoughts Saying?
Most people, if given the choice, would like to use their mind to help heal their body. You may be wondering, if this is true, why many haven’t heard about it before.
In a word, money.
What do you think would happen if everyone started to tap into their inner ability to heal disease -- and stopped relying on drugs and surgeries? Pharmaceutical companies would lose out big time, and so they would rather keep you completely in the dark.
Your beliefs are energy fields, and they are working to promote either health or disease in your body right now. Which one is up to you.
When it comes to the ability of your mind to heal you, there are NO limitations. The sky is the limit.
However, there is something you should know. Other people can influence your perception of things and ultimately your ability to express your true beliefs.
